- Embryos ( growing fertilised eggs ) in the incubators are monitored by the embryologist and they are graded as they develop.
- Between Days 2 to 3 , they are called embryos and a good embryo would be between 4 to 6 cells on Day 2 and 6 to 10 cells on Day 3 .
- However, in Ever-Link , almost 90% of our cases are cultured to blastocyst. This involves allowing embryos to mature further (up to day 5 to day 7) in laboratory conditions before decision made to transfer them fresh into the uterus or to freeze them
- In order to reach a blastocyst stage of development , the embryos need an “ideal” and best environment to grow and at Ever-Link Fertility Centre , we would recommend extended culture to blastocyst stage if 4 or more good quality embryos are available on day 3.
